Strengthening the distribution of malaria commodities through mapping

Description

In Cameroon, the health information system faces challenges, which at times complicates accurate forecasting of health commodity needs to meet the requirements at national, regional, district and health facility (HF) levels. To better ensure the availability of commodities in the North and Far North regions for the country's 2018 seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) campaign, the Government of Cameroon introduced geographical information systems (GIS) to track and guarantee last-mile deliveries. This technical brief outlines the planning and outcomes for the use of GIS mapping to improve distribution of malaria commodities.
