Description

Strategic planning for the implementation of any information technology (IT) system, including an electronic logistics management information system (e-LMIS), warehouse management system (WMS), or an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is essential in supply chain management. Planning for a successful IT system implementation requires commitment and support from multiple levels of the project’s host-country counterparts, the USAID mission and potentially other donors, and PSM HQ and field offices.

To ensure that strategic planning is integrated into the process, GHSC-PSM IT implementations will use the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework as a guideline for planning and managing the projects. The SDLC framework establishes a standard operation process and defined standard templates that can be leveraged and reused by all field offices to improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the project life cycle.
