Lead Paragraph/Summary

A new USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) video features interviews with people in Malawi’s health supply chain describing the success they have had with a new electronic logistics management information system.

In the four-minute film, pharmacists, doctors, and others who work every day with the Malawi Ministry of Health’s OpenLMIS 3.0 explain how the new system, which enables real-time visibility into data as it is generated, has made them more efficient as they can now quickly access reports and address potential problems. OpenLMIS 3.0 has improved data reporting from health facilities and the ordering of essential medicines and supplies.

“I can work in my office, and just with internet access, I can be able to see what’s going on in the different health facilities within Salima in terms of what they have, what they don’t have, what we need to order for them, how are they doing,” Dr. Ivy Chilingulo, acting director of health and social services in Salima, Malawi, says in the video.
