Tool: Ethiopia Pharmaceuticals Procurement List

In Ethiopia, the absence of an agreed upon procurement list was identified as one of the causes for the interrupted supply of pharmaceuticals to public health facilities. GHSC-PSM developed the first edition of the list in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Fund and Supply Agency (PFSA). This will improve PFSA’s performance and result in better availability of these selected pharmaceuticals and reduce wastage. Health facilities will be clear on what can be supplied by PFSA and look for options to avail products that are not supplied by PFSA. The list will be updated every two years in line with local and global changes in disease management.
