Description

The United Nations Commission on Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children (UNCoLSC) released a report in 2012 identifying 13 reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) commodities that, if more widely available and properly used, could save the lives of more than six million women and children.

This fact sheet summarizes key findings from the USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project's assessment of the progress that has been made towards improving availability, accessibility and quality of these commodities in East and West Africa. It discusses this progress in the context of two major workshops and the impact these had on the participating countries.
