Using End-Use Verification Surveys to Improve Proper Storage of Oxytocin

Description

This two-page brief highlights how the End-Use Verification (EUV) survey has been used to improve management of the maternal health commodity oxytocin, which requires cold storage. The brief demonstrates how countries supported by USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project have assessed the availability and proper storage of oxytocin, and used that data to improve the status of oxytocin at facilities - helping ensure it is available and effective when used. Having effective oxytocin on hand can save a hemorrhaging mother's life.
